πŸ‘£Transitioning from other software into ScribeWare

Welcome to ScribeWare!! In many cases, we can help import your templates and libraries into ScribeWare so you can get a head start in your migration.

Steps to transition into ScribeWare

  1. Download ScribeWare: Download ScribeWare and play with it. Fill out a report or 1/2 a report and make notes of what you want to change. See what you like and don’t like. Give it a bit of time but just have fun and see where you get.

  2. Watch some tutorials: Watch tutorial videos in these docs.

  3. Go Into Settings: From here you can add information about your company, your logo, your credentials, and other information. You can also add your contract and customize your summary page.

  4. Customize the How to Read This Report and Scope and Purpose Pages: You can find these under settings->boilerplate

  5. Change your template to suit your style: Make changes to your template to suit your style. This can take some time. Don’t try to do it all at once and think it will be perfect. Expect to be tweaking and changing your template as you come up with new ways to report on things more accurately, more quickly, or ideally, both. But get enough done that the template matches your style and workflow.

  6. Determine how you want to import your library of comments: Determine how you want to bring over your existing library, if you have one. Some software systems do not make it easy to get the library off. Options for bringing over your library include:

    1. Use the ScribeWare default library and edit it to suit your style. You can manually cut and paste in your favorite comments from your existing library and blend them with the library of comments in the default library.

    2. Erase the ScribeWare default library and just bring in your library. The upside to this is you will have all your familiar comments. The downside is you will need to build out connections to those comments and work to sort the library by section.

    3. Keep only the parts of the ScribeWare default library which connect to pulldowns or checkboxes. This is a lot of comments, but it thins out the default library a bit and then you can blend in your library.

  7. Write some more reports! There is no better way to start getting ScribeWare to fit you like a glove and to get faster at using it than writing reports. As you go, try and make notes of things you would like to change and then tweak as needed and remember that in ScribeWare it is easy to update and charge your library of narratives as you go.

  8. Subscribe to our YouTube Channel and Facebook users group. These are great resources to keep tabs of new reporting ideas, developments, and features.
